What is Ecocatalix?

A chemical engineering & catalysis deep-tech company

Ecocatalix Technologies Pvt. Ltd. develops catalytic and thermochemical processes that convert waste plastics, biomass and other renewable resources into fuels, chemicals, hydrogen, hydrocarbon feedstocks and carbon-rich materials. The company works at the intersection of chemical engineering, heterogeneous catalysis, reaction engineering and process scale-up — building a technology portfolio rather than a single product.

The Resource Challenge

India's Plastic Waste Is a Stranded Asset

India's growing plastic-waste stream includes mixed, contaminated and low-value polyolefin fractions that are difficult to recover economically through conventional mechanical recycling. These streams can be landfilled, openly burned or otherwise under-valorised when collection and sorting economics are unfavorable.

Agricultural residues face a parallel problem: large, decentralized volumes of underutilized biomass carbon with no straightforward route to clean fuels or hydrogen.

bypassed by manual waste-pickers — poor weight-to-volume economics strand this stream

Flagship Technology

Catalytic Plastic-to-Naphtha

A two-stage thermochemical process — continuous depolymerisation followed by in-line catalytic upgrading — narrows the product slate to the naphtha range, targeting a cleaner, lighter, higher-value output than conventional thermal pyrolysis oil.

Targeted for industrial applications, with research ongoing into higher-value functional materials.

Why Ecocatalix?

Five Reasons This Is a Process-Engineering Company, Not a Waste Handler

01

Catalytic Upgrading

Targeting improved control over hydrocarbon product distribution through catalytic upgrading, rather than relying on thermal pyrolysis alone.

02

Integrated Process

Conversion, catalytic upgrading, condensation and purification are designed as one connected process train, not separate bolt-on steps.

03

Waste-to-Value

Designed to recover value from difficult-to-recycle waste streams that mechanical recycling and informal collection both bypass.

04

Process Engineering

Grounded in chemical engineering, reaction engineering, process development and scale-up — not a lab curiosity.

05

Technology Portfolio

Plastic, biomass, hydrogen, chemicals, catalysis and separation technologies share one common engineering backbone.

Our Technology Portfolio

Plastic-to-Naphtha is the flagship commercialization opportunity — alongside a broader portfolio of waste-to-value and catalytic process technologies
